Gloria Estefan, in one of her songs: “We seal our fate by the choices we make.” Choices determine destinies. Wishes don’t determine our destiny in life. Wants never fulfill our dreams. Choices determine destiny and dreams.

Every day we make many choices. Mostly, we don’t even know that we are making them. Brushing our hair a certain way is a choice. Going to work is a choice. Getting married is a choice. Choices are an everyday part of life, but very few people pay attention to the choices they make, and therefore don’t live the kind of life they really want to. Past conditioning or habit will be the major controlling influence in your relationships.

“Who do I now choose to be? This is the only question that matters, and this is what your soul is using your life to decide, every moment. Life is not a process of discovery; it is a process of creation.”

“What would love do now?”

- Neale Donald Walsch

We are all accountable for our behavior. By choosing our behavior, we choose the consequences and circumstances of our lives. Accepting this law stops us from dodging, ducking and weaving in denial about why our life is the way it is.

We still operate from our childhood images, especially when our buttons are pushed. Without awareness, we behave as we did as a child. Are we conscious enough to make choices, as the adult that we want to be?  Or do we still feel small?
